01

Name the function the buyer needs

Ask which seating positions and daily needs matter. One user may require a particular driving position; another wants a demonstrated comfort function on longer trips. Keep these separate from upholstery colour and trim preference. The equipment verification guide establishes the original configuration.

Do not assume all versions include the same seat package. A reference presentation can illustrate model-family equipment while leaving the proposed unit unresolved. Record factory evidence and later changes. If a function is optional for the customer, say so rather than automatically giving it priority over condition or travel requirements.

02

Observe operation and personal fit independently

Request normal demonstrations under appropriate instructions, identifying the seating position and selected function. A control indicator can show a setting while leaving the useful result unassessed. Retain faults and untested functions rather than claiming the entire seat package works from one brief movement.

The driver-fit review evaluates the actual achieved position. Powered controls do not guarantee suitability for every person. Remote evidence may screen candidates while personal assessment remains necessary. Keep comfort comments qualified to the observer and conditions instead of publishing a universal long-journey benefit.

03

Review the seat's present condition

Obtain clear views of cushion, bolsters, trim and controls. Identify disclosed repairs or replacement materials without inferring original finish from appearance. Suitable providers should assess any suspected mechanical or electrical issue before a remedy is priced.

The individual inspection framework connects seating findings to the actual car. New proposals still need supplied specification and delivery-condition review. A fresh interior cannot settle every function, and an optional seat feature cannot establish the battery or wider vehicle condition.

04

Compare the premium after preparation

Ask receiving providers about supported work for assessed issues and price a complete scope. Keep uncertain preparation outside confirmed totals. The trim and range priority decision places useful seat benefits beside the customer's other essentials.

If the buyer accepts a simpler seat that meets the required position, compare that proposition explicitly. If a particular comfort function is mandatory, seek a supported candidate rather than valuing an unconfirmed option. Avoid guaranteed comfort, reliability or resale claims from the package name alone.

05

A shared-driver use case

For a car used by several drivers, identify the adjustment functions that solve the actual routine before paying for extra comfort features. A sole driver may have different priorities. The same higher-trim seat should not be recommended automatically to both buyers.

If a candidate's feature needs work, retain the supported remedy and completion condition rather than crediting the full working-option premium immediately. Keep the rear passenger arrangement visible after the accepted driver setting. A replacement seat or different build requires another relevant review, even if the upholstery colour matches the customer's preference.

Evidence to keep with the decision

  1. Name the seating positions and specific functions the customer requires, distinguishing adjustment, massage and temperature-related benefits from colour or trim appearance so a long option list does not become an undefined mandatory package.
  2. Retain original equipment and actual controls with the candidate reference, identifying disclosed changes rather than assuming a feature illustrated on the manufacturer's model page is supplied on every version or present on the proposed vehicle.
  3. Record appropriate ordinary operation and relevant selected modes, keeping untested functions or reported faults pending; a screen indicator or one powered movement cannot establish every comfort feature or its useful result for the buyer.
  4. Keep the achieved driver position and required rear arrangement together, using personal or stated representative observations where appropriate instead of treating remote measurements or another person's experience as guaranteed fit and comfort for all occupants.
  5. Obtain supported assessment and completed remedy scope for relevant issues, preserving the provider's limitations and receiving support rather than pricing an assumed inexpensive switch as if it resolved the whole seat or electrical concern.
  6. Retain the valued customer benefit and accepted seat condition in the final file, repeating affected checks when a substitute has another seat or build even if the upholstery matches; the retail description should not exceed demonstrated operation.

Questions buyers ask

Does a massage menu prove the seat package works?

No. Verify the installed function and appropriate observed operation.

Are comfort options a substitute for fit?

No. Personal seating position and the required passenger arrangement need their own review.
