01

Replace “charger included” with an item list

Ask the seller to identify each supplied item by type, model or part reference, quantity and condition. Distinguish a detachable cable from portable charging equipment and a fixed installation that must be arranged separately. A bag containing a cable is not evidence that the customer has every component needed for charging at home or on a public network.

For a new vehicle, establish which items belong to the agreed sales package and which are separately priced accessories. For a used vehicle, identify what remains with that particular car; original-package assumptions may no longer apply. Include a photograph of the complete proposed contents before packing. This makes it easier to compare two offers whose vehicle prices look similar but whose included equipment differs.

02

Match the item to the supported combination

Collect readable markings from the vehicle inlet and proposed equipment, along with relevant instructions. Have an appropriate provider assess the intended combination, operating limits and destination requirements. Mechanical fit alone does not demonstrate communication, electrical suitability or an approved application. Do not select an accessory solely from the model badge or a seller’s universal-fit label.

The i60 charging compatibility guide addresses this system-level decision. Keep its outcome linked to the accessory list. If a candidate or accessory is substituted, check whether the earlier assessment still applies. A quotation for one documented combination should not silently turn into a different cable or adapter because it happens to be available when the vehicle is prepared.

03

Inspect condition without improvising repairs

Request clear photographs of connectors, visible contacts, cable coverings and equipment labels. Record cracked parts, contamination, damaged latches or signs of previous repair for qualified assessment. A clean carrying case does not establish the condition of the contents. Where an item cannot be appropriately assessed, make its replacement or further inspection an explicit purchase condition.

Do not ask a seller to splice a damaged cable or improvise a connection to demonstrate charging. Follow the equipment and vehicle instructions through an appropriately qualified provider. This is a buying review, not a repair procedure. The useful decision is whether the offered item has a supported application and acceptable condition, not whether an unverified arrangement can be made to start a session once.

04

Connect a session record to the actual kit

Where a supported test is available, identify the exact equipment used, vehicle, date and observed result. Preserve session interruptions or warnings. A test using a workshop’s own cable does not establish that a different item packed with the car has been checked. Ask the seller to make that distinction visible in the report instead of describing all equipment as tested together.

For charging speed, use the charging-time evidence guide to record the start and finish conditions. A cable rating is not a promise of sustained vehicle charging power. A successful test also remains limited to the demonstrated setup; it cannot establish access to every destination network. Keep those limitations with the record so the receiving dealer knows which checks are complete.

05

Budget for what the package does not include

Separate accessory purchase from installation, electrical assessment and network charges. A portable item supplied with the vehicle does not establish that an existing socket or installation is suitable. Ask the responsible local provider to review the intended location and quote any necessary work. The home-charging budget keeps one-time setup costs apart from electricity purchased during normal use.

If an optional adapter is proposed, record its provider, supported use and applicable terms rather than treating it as a free solution to every mismatch. Compare quotations after these missing items are identified. A lower vehicle price may still be attractive, but the buyer should see the full agreed charging arrangement and understand which parts must be sourced or assessed separately.

06

Reconcile the contents at handover

Create a final packing list tied to the vehicle reference. Photograph the supplied items, labels and storage location, and identify anything travelling in a separate package. Include the relevant instructions and agreed support details. On receipt, compare the actual contents with that list before assuming a missing item was never included or that a different accessory is an approved substitute.

Keep this record with the handover documents. For a batch, use one list per vehicle where equipment differs, rather than a representative photograph for the whole order. A precise kit list helps the dealer answer a customer’s practical first-day question: what has arrived, what can be used in the confirmed arrangement and what still needs to be provided locally?

YOUR NEXT STEP

Bring the requirement into your enquiry.

Include your destination, quantity, new-or-used preference and the points that determine acceptance. Panda can discuss suitable sourcing requirements; availability and final terms need separate confirmation.
