Identify the fitted configuration
Record the selected vehicle’s production details and the wheel and tyre information relevant to its application. Ask whether the wheels are original to the accepted specification or later replacements. Similar-looking wheels on two i60s do not establish the same approved fitment or replacement cost.
Use the version checklist to keep original equipment and current installation distinct. This guide does not prescribe one size for every i60. Have the correct vehicle instructions and a qualified provider establish the requirements, including appropriate ratings and any relevant fitment constraints for the proposed package.
Inspect every tyre position
Request legible sidewall photographs and a written condition record for each fitted tyre. Include relevant wear observations, disclosed repairs and any concerns raised by the assessor. One attractive wheel photograph cannot show whether the remaining positions have the same specification or a comparable condition.
The used-car review should record tyres alongside the wider chassis findings. Uneven wear or vibration may justify further assessment rather than an automatic tyre-only remedy. Keep the observation and the provider’s diagnosis separate so a replacement allowance does not hide an unresolved cause.
Describe where the car will operate
Tell the local provider about the intended roads, climate and ordinary loading. The suitability discussion belongs to the actual use and applicable requirements. A tyre described as appropriate for an electric vehicle is not automatically suitable for every destination or every i60 wheel configuration.
For seasonal travel, the winter-use guide connects route planning with the wider operating context. Do not promise that a tyre choice produces a fixed range improvement or makes the car suitable for all weather. Ask for the product recommendation and its basis without converting it into an unsupported performance guarantee.
Compare like-for-like replacement quotes
Request the exact proposed products and included work. State whether the quote covers fitting, balancing and any other identified service items. A bare tyre price and a completed workshop package are different amounts, even if their product descriptions appear similar at first glance.
Record currency, availability and quotation validity. Where a supplier proposes an alternative product, have that alternative assessed on its own specification. Avoid approving an unnamed equivalent that may change after the price comparison, leaving the dealer unable to explain what was fitted or why it met the agreed requirement.
Include wheel-related work where needed
Ask the workshop whether any wheel condition or disclosed modification requires separate attention. Do not budget only for rubber if the inspection identifies a broader scope. The correct provider should determine appropriate work and verification; a remote photograph is not enough to approve a damaged wheel for continued use.
If returning to another configuration is proposed, document the complete package and required supporting items. A wheel-size change should not be treated as a cosmetic substitution with no technical implications. Keep the accepted outcome clear enough for the receiving provider to review before the vehicle is released.
Recheck what was actually fitted
After agreed preparation, request a fresh record of all positions and the completed work. A quote is not proof of the final installation. If a driving concern prompted the work, retain the provider’s verification and any remaining next step rather than closing the issue solely because new tyres appear in a photograph.
For a dealer batch, allocate known tyre work to individual vehicles before averaging preparation costs. A batch total can assist cash planning, but it should not conceal one candidate with an unresolved wheel concern. The receiving record should make each vehicle’s fitted specification and condition understandable without reconstructing a general order message.
Use the finished cost in the purchase decision
Compare the vehicle price plus the agreed tyre and wheel preparation against an alternative already assessed with an acceptable set. A lower headline car price is useful only when the work and support are understood. Keep uncertain diagnosis separate from confirmed replacement costs until the provider establishes the scope.
Send Panda the destination, accepted i60 versions and new or used preference. State any mandatory tyre or wheel requirements and request the appropriate evidence. New stock also needs delivery-condition review; its new status does not replace identification of the fitted package or verification of work performed before handover.
