Describe the parking and time constraint
Ask where the customer normally parks and when the car can realistically visit charging locations. Apartment residence does not automatically mean no charging, and a private parking space does not prove an authorised installation is possible. Retain the actual arrangements rather than assigning a recommendation from the accommodation label.
The charging combination review establishes the vehicle and equipment question. A location that appears convenient may not provide the compatible arrangement or access hours the customer needs. Keep access permission and technical compatibility distinct. Do not count an uncertain future installation as a completed benefit when comparing the candidate.
Build an ordinary-week replenishment plan
List regular travel, usable charging windows and a reasonable alternative location. Include time the customer is genuinely willing to spend, not an ideal routine chosen to make the vehicle fit. A charger close to work may be useful only on days the customer visits that site and can obtain access.
Use the charging budget framework for electricity and equipment scope, while substituting the relevant public or workplace inputs. Do not reuse a private-home tariff to claim the same running amount. Fees, parking or other confirmed scope belong in the scenario. Keep uncertain availability and prices separate from supported inputs rather than producing a universal monthly saving.
Compare BEV and EREV deliberately
An EREV alternative changes the operating and service proposition; it should not be treated as simply a BEV with every charging concern removed. The powertrain decision guide separates those routes. Confirm the actual candidate and receiving-provider support before selecting an alternative from its headline combined range.
If the buyer remains open to either route, keep cabin and other essential functions consistent across both offers. The EREV long-journey assessment examines another specific use without turning the powertrain into a universal solution. A switch should be an explicit customer decision supported by configuration and condition evidence.
Keep the uncertainty visible in the purchase
If the proposed car's charging behaviour has not been appropriately demonstrated, leave that part pending. A station location and a supplied cable do not establish a completed compatible charge. Obtain suitable provider confirmation and normal observations without improvised adapters or electrical work.
For used candidates, retain battery and charging findings independently from route planning. For new proposals, verify supplied specification, status and delivery condition. A workable routine cannot certify the individual vehicle, and a clean inspection cannot guarantee station availability. Both questions need their own evidence before the dealer treats the offer as suitable.
A customer reliant on workplace access
Suppose the buyer expects to charge at work but has not confirmed vehicle compatibility or permitted hours. Ask for those answers before assuming the arrangement serves the ordinary week. Then identify what happens during leave, weekends or a workplace change. The alternative should reflect an accepted practical routine, not a hypothetical station the buyer would rarely use.
If the supported plan is inconvenient, compare another candidate or a different powertrain against the same travel needs. Record the customer's accepted waiting and access limits. The dealer can explain why the car was selected without promising that every apartment resident can conveniently own the same i60 or that an EREV choice removes all replenishment and support planning.
Choose the next action
| Finding or requirement | Purchase response |
|---|---|
| Workplace charging is unconfirmed | Establish permitted access, compatible equipment and usable times before treating the arrangement as part of the purchase case. |
| Public charging is the fallback | Use relevant local inputs and an accepted alternative routine, keeping uncertain station availability visible. |
| EREV is proposed instead | Review its actual configuration and service support separately; do not present it as removal of all charging questions. |
Evidence to keep with the decision
- Keep the buyer's normal parking and usable replenishment windows together, identifying workplace, public or other access that has actually been confirmed rather than simply marking a nearby location on a map as available.
- Record compatibility evidence for the offered car and intended equipment, with the provider responsible for any installation or access question; a physical connector photograph cannot establish the completed combination or a charging session.
- Attach relevant local budget inputs and their scope, including confirmed fees or parking where applicable, without substituting a private-home electricity assumption for another arrangement or presenting uncertain future prices as an established monthly total.
- Retain the practical fallback and the buyer's accepted inconvenience limit, specifying what happens outside workplace hours or when the preferred location cannot serve the routine; one favourable day should not define the whole ownership plan.
- If an EREV alternative is considered, preserve its separate system identity and service-support evidence, making the customer's change explicit rather than treating interest in a longer reference figure as unrestricted permission to substitute powertrains.
- Keep candidate condition, battery findings and supplied accessories beside the route plan, identifying uncompleted checks so a workable access routine does not silently become a claim that the actual used vehicle has been comprehensively assessed.
Questions buyers ask
Is apartment parking automatically unsuitable?
No. Assess actual access and timing rather than the housing label.
Does a nearby charger prove compatibility?
No. The vehicle, equipment and permitted arrangement need their own supported confirmation.
