01

Separate a symptom from its cause

Ask whether the report concerns a disclosed event, documents or observed moisture needing assessment. Staining or odour can have different origins. Retain the seller's account and observations separately rather than diagnosing exposure from one clue or dismissing the issue from presentation alone.

The defined inspection scope keeps methods and limits attached to the candidate. Appropriate providers should decide relevant checks. Do not request improvised water or high-voltage testing for a video. If cause or extent cannot be established, record that uncertainty before accepting the proposal.

02

Identify what the evidence actually covers

Request suitable records and findings for affected or relevant areas as determined by the qualified assessment. Current operation can be useful while leaving history and consequences unresolved. A limited inspection should not be advertised as a comprehensive guarantee.

The roof-condition decision addresses one possible source independently. Establishing a leak or another cause does not automatically settle the condition of every potentially affected area. Keep source repair and consequence assessment distinct, with any inaccessible or untested point visible.

03

Review work beyond appearance

Cleaning, drying and changed trim may improve presentation without proving all systems were assessed. Ask who did the work, what scope was supported and which results address the original issue. A component purchase does not establish the whole completed remedy.

The battery evidence guide explains why screen charge or estimated range cannot certify health. Appropriate qualified findings for the actual configuration are needed. A provider's support answer should address assessed work, not a universal claim that exposure-related electric cars are inexpensive to restore.

04

Retain the buyer's acceptance boundary

Some briefs exclude specified exposure history regardless of appearance. Others may consider a limited understood issue with suitable evidence. State that boundary explicitly. Optional equipment or low mileage cannot silently revise it.

Keep responsible destination answers separate from condition findings. Do not guarantee future fault-free use or a registration outcome. The remote evidence file makes open questions visible before the transaction moves forward. If necessary assessment or support is unavailable, compare another candidate instead of seeking a stronger unsupported assurance.

05

A cleaned candidate and a dashboard clip

Suppose the seller supplies a cleaned i60 after reported moisture and a video showing ordinary screen operation. Retain the clip as a limited observation, then request suitable cause, consequence and work evidence. It cannot settle the full history or all relevant systems.

If that evidence cannot be obtained, keep the limitation and seek another car where the buyer's scope requires it. For an accepted candidate, preserve findings, completed work and remaining limits without adopting a universal water-free claim. Group origin does not prove matching histories, and every substitute needs its own relevant review.

Evidence to keep with the decision

  1. Record the basis of reported exposure or moisture findings, separating seller explanations, observations and qualified conclusions instead of diagnosing from odour alone or dismissing the report because cleaning improved the cabin's appearance.
  2. Retain cause, extent and relevant assessment limits as separate fields, using appropriate qualified providers rather than improvised electrical, high-voltage or water tests intended to create a favourable or definitive remote demonstration.
  3. Keep source repair distinct from assessment of consequences in other relevant areas, recording inaccessible or untested points instead of assuming that one established leak explanation proves the complete condition of the whole vehicle.
  4. Connect actual work, responsible providers and follow-up results to the original concern, treating changed trim or screen operation as limited evidence rather than proof that every potentially affected system received suitable assessment and remedy.
  5. Preserve the customer's exposure exclusion or permitted uncertainty and relevant destination answer, comparing another supported car when required evidence is unavailable instead of using a low amount, low reading or premium option to revise the brief.
  6. Retain accepted findings and remaining limitations through handover, repeating relevant review per group unit or substitute rather than adopting a universal water-free statement from shared source history or a few favourable photographs.

Questions buyers ask

Can a working screen exclude water-related issues?

No. It cannot establish the full history or condition of relevant systems.

Does every moisture finding mean flood exposure?

No. Appropriate assessment should establish the actual cause and consequences.
